Feature request #59: Show clickable rating bar in menu bar

Description

I'd like to be able to have the song rating display in the menu bar to the left of the "previous track" button. I'd also like to be able to change the rating of a song, including giving it no rating if it already has one, from the menu bar by clicking on the 0 to 5 stars. This would save a lot of time if one is evaluating many songs one hasn't listed to in a while, and wishes to alter their respective ratings.

Also, I first went to the page where I could query to see if this had already been requested, but found it to be the single most complicated page of gobbledygook I've ever encountered (and I maintail all of our company's Macs), so sorry if this is a duplicate request, etc.

    Thanks for submitting the feature request. You're not the first to ask me about this and I do have plans to implement it.

    In the meantime, did you know that you can define hot keys for ratings (increase rating, decrease rating, as well as 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 stars). Just check out the "Hot Keys" tab of the Synergy Preferences.

    Don't worry, it's not a duplicate report. It's true that the query interface is very complicated; there is a much simpler version if you just go straight to the front page, where you'll find a simple search field that asks you to enter a bug number or some keywords.

    Britney, you could file your idea as a separate request so that it doesn't get "buried" here and overlooked.

    See also ticket #1287, which proposes that this clickable star-rating interface appear when you hover the mouse over the "ticker" in the menu bar. Ticket #61 is the one for the original ticker interface request.
