Bug #461: CRASH: Dies in -[NSUIHeartBeat _heartBeatThread:] on secondary thread

Description

This particular crash is occurring in a secondary thread in all-Apple code so not sure how to fix it. This same user has also reported some general system stability issues (outside of Synergy Advance) so this may or may not be related.

Nevertheless the crash report that I'll attach does show too many threads being spawned (related to bug #396) and I really need to figure out how to stop that from happening.
