Description

From a user email:

"I have running my Computer with Energy saver ON. After a short Time I come back and iCal has a Message place on the screen. After I have closed all I'll see the Message from the System, that Synergy Advanced has crashed. I tryed to restart the Application but the same Error accured again. Now this is the report to you."

Will attach an excerpt from the crash log. For some reason Synergy Advance has spawned a huge number of threads and eventually dies. I've omitted most of the threads from the crash log to keep the size down.

In order to analyze this further I need to know if you're running on PowerPC or Intel. The build number in your crash log for 10.4.6 doesn't match mine (PowerPC), so am I right in assuming you're on Intel?

This one is potentially fixed by the changes that were made in order to fix bug #388 and bug #397. I suspect that the same underlying cause may have been at the root of it all. Will monitor this bug closely and see if is reproducible when the next version comes out (the version containing the fix for the aforementioned bugs).

To be informed when the next version comes out you can subscribe to the announcements mailing list.

Not sure if this is a related crash or not. Just received a report that looks like this:

See also bug #461, which is a different crash but also exhibits the general "too many threads" behaviour.

  8. Greg Hurrell 2006-12-29T08:27:57Z

See also bug #525; user submitted an unrelated crash report, but the number of threads still seems too high (27).
