feature request

    Yes, I want a pony.

I've been using Synergy since, well, a long time. And over that time, the way I'm inclined to use it has changed. Some of the stuff I'd like to see is not currently implemented, but probably could be without too much grief.

I like to have the floater always-on (which it can do now), except: 1) I'd prefer that it be at the desktop layer, rather than floating over everything, and 2) have it auto-hide when iTunes is paused for more than a few seconds. IMO, this makes more sense for "ambient" always-on information displays.

I'd also like the album art display to be a little bigger. I suppose ideally that would be something that can be set by the user.

    (1) Floater on the desktop

This was implemented in version 1.3 (September 2004):

Quote: [Feature] New "power user" feature (accessible from command-line), display floater on desktop. To activate, enter "defaults write org.wincent.Synergy desktopFloater -bool true" in the Terminal and restart Synergy. To deactivate, enter "defaults write org.wincent.Synergy desktopFloater -bool false".

Due to lack of space in the preferences user interface I made this a command-line only customization. It's not surprising that you didn't know about it.

    (2) Always on with auto-hide if iTunes paused/stopped

Thanks for the feature request. I've made an entry for it in the feature-requests database:

    (3) Bigger album art display

There is already a feature request that's similar to this:

    https://wincent.dev/a/support/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=47

But I've also made a new one that specifically describes what you're asking for:

Thanks for the follow-up, and for putting my requests in the database where they belong. I've made the desktop-layer change and am enjoying it already.

Can you create a way to add that to the Key Commands. Instead of going up to the Menubar you could just key command and it would add. That would be nice.

To add what command to the hot keys? See also:
