Open in Horizontal Split Crashes vim on Ubuntu Server

I'm using the latest version of Command-T from the repository with a recently compiled vim (not the stock vim). Command-T was compiled with the system Ruby (1.8.7). Everything's running on Ubuntu Server 12.04 running in a VM.

Everything works, even <C-V> to open in a vertical split, but <C-S> repeatably makes vim completely unresponsive.

<CTRL-s> has special meaning to the terminal, suspending all terminal input until you issue a corresponding <CTRL-q>. You can turn off the suspension behavior using stty -ixon (ie. directly at the command line or in your .bash_profile/.zshrc etc).

See man stty for more details, or google for "XON/XOFF flow control".
