Upgrading to Git 1.5.2.4 Edit

I performed the upgrade to Git 1.5.2.4 on two different machines, each using a different technique:

Upgrading via a tarball; see "Upgrading to Git 1.5.2.4 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux".
Upgrading using a local Git repository; see: "Upgrading to Git 1.5.2.4 on Mac OS X Tiger".
