Created an attachment (id=128) iTunes sample, after Synergy crashed & was relaunched, before relaunching iTunes
iTunes would not play at this point.

Excellent bug report, Chris! I wish they could all be this good!
You're right that in a case like these, even though iTunes screwed up Synergy still should crash. At the very worst, it should beachball while waiting for iTunes to respond.
I see you're using 3.1.1; if you can you should upgrade to the latest (3.1.2). Whatever the cause of the crash is, I doubt that it has changed between versions but it's still good to upgrade so that we're using the exact same code base.
I'm going to try and convert these addresses back to symbols:

But from the context of the crash thread's stack trace I'm guessing that that's in the notification handling code.
