Feature request #291: REQUEST: Option to show "Grouping" in Floater

Description

Currently, there is no option to show the "Grouping" of which the track belongs to. This is especially needed when listening to classical music where many individual tracks have ambiguous names, such as "Allegro" or "Presto", without any indication of which specific symphony or concerto they belong to.

My suggestion is to optionally add a second line of smaller text just beneath the track name (but keeping it above the divider line)

    Thanks very much for filing the request and posting the mockup (looks good). If you want to get a sneak preview of things to come you could take a look at the public preview release of Synergy Advance. It doesn't have a Floater module yet but it does have support for customizing what gets shown in Growl notifications and one of the things you can include in them is the track "Grouping". When I release the Floater module that will also provide the user with more control over what gets included in the Floater and how it gets formatted, including control over the "Grouping" info.

    Wincent, thanks very much for the quick reply. I'll probably download Synergy Advance soon and try it out - but does this mean Synergy Classic will not be getting this feature?

    Synergy may get it, but because it already suffers from a "UI cramp" problem in the preferences there is a limit to the number of new features that can be added. I've marked the request as ASSIGNED so that it doesn't get overlooked or forgotten as time goes on.
