Description

This is a checklist for the things that need to be done prior to deploying the Rails 3 version of the site.

Must review all new/open tickets in the tracker, as there are many relevant ones like the following (and still have to do an exhaustive review):

Bugs, security, quality issues

  • ticket #1576, "Product model maintenance needed for next deployment"
  • ticket #1579, "Rails 3: audit mass-assignable attributes, including associations"
  • ticket #1580, "Rails 3: non-SSL requests broken on local development machine in production environment" (review required)
  • ticket #1606, "Specs for lib/sortable.rb"
  • ticket #1656, "Rails 3: grep codebase for TODO and BUG markers prior to deployment"

Review required

  • ticket #1570, 'Rails 3: add back "decoration" to forms to show validation errors' (I think this one might be done already and I just forgot to close the ticket)

"Would be nice" tickets

  • ticket #1135, "Add repository browsing features"
  • ticket #1244, "Search by tag in issue tracker"
  • ticket #1303, '"Redirect" feature for tags'

Done

  • ticket #1584, "Product categories not consistent in navbar vs db"
  • ticket #1621, "Switch to unicorn executable, drop unicorn_rails"
  • ticket #1654, "Rails 3: update database adapter settings (for mysql2) on server for next deployment"

(Maybe I should be tagging these, but as I don't have tag-based issue searching yet, ie. ticket #1244, not much point.)

Just did a successful deploy on a staging clone. A bit fiddly, but it works.

Rails 3 version has been up and running successfully for a while now, so closing.
